Clinical Decision Support Capability

Business Challenge

Healthcare organisations increasingly hold vast quantities of patient data, yet much of its potential remains inaccessible during frontline clinical decision-making. The challenge was to explore how artificial intelligence could transform millions of patient records into meaningful clinical insights that would support General Practitioners in making faster, more informed decisions while improving patient outcomes.

Archer Approach

Led the delivery of an AI-enabled proof of concept in partnership with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, clinicians and technical specialists.

Coordinated clinical requirements, operational priorities and stakeholder engagement to ensure the solution addressed genuine healthcare challenges rather than simply demonstrating technology. Working alongside the data science team, I translated clinical use cases into practical delivery outcomes, ensuring the predictive models aligned with the realities of frontline patient care.

Organisational Impact
Demonstrated the potential of artificial intelligence to support earlier, evidence-based clinical decision-making.

Enabled millions of patient records to be validated, analysed and transformed into meaningful clinical insights.

Reduced the dependency on delayed investigations by providing immediate decision-support information to clinicians.

Strengthened collaboration between healthcare professionals, operational leaders and data scientists.

Showcased the practical application of AI in improving patient pathways and future models of care.

Capability Legacy

The proof of concept demonstrated how emerging technologies can strengthen organisational capability when they are designed around clinical needs rather than technical innovation alone. It established a foundation for integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare decision-making while reinforcing the importance of governance, multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centred design.
